We take cues from your pet and do not charge if we are unable to start working with your anxious pet. If you book an appointment and decide to cancel it after consultation our fee is $50 and the same fee is charged if we have to break up your appointment due to anxiety. This gives your pet 2 hours with us rather than 1 hour.
We will have your pet for about 45 minutes. This gives us time to introduce ourselves, our tools and get them comfortable without their pet parents.
Included in our session:
- Removal of tartar, plaque & calculus
- Brush & polish teeth, stains & gums
- Laser to reduce existing inflammation
- Pet report card and review of session
The service for dogs usually takes 45 - 55 minutes and for cats usually about 30 minutes. Each pet is assessed individually and will text you when your pet is close to being ready to be picked up.
Originally owner owner obtained training in the United States at the only state Vet taught, academically recognized, and accredited training program. The program focuses specifically on No Sedation Pet Teeth Cleaning. Today our pet teeth techs are hired based on expertise in the Veterinary field and pet handling experience. They then are certified in pet first aid are given extensive fear free behaviour training, as well are put through the same US training program.
Teeth care should be considered an extension of care in the grooming process and overall pet care. We all want to do our best for our fur babies.
Look for brown or yellow build-up on teeth. If you are unsure, we can check the plaque for you and then book you an appointment as needed.
Your animal will not experience any pain. We are scaling off plaque just like you humans have experienced.
We rely on our ‘pet-whispering’ skills to establish a trusting relationship with each animal and at the same time use gentle relaxation techniques, which allow the pet to feel safe and comfortable. Even fussy pets with challenging personalities are usually very cooperative. On the rare occasion, but it does happen, some may even fall asleep.
We're thrilled to invite your adorable puppy (under 1 year) to our fun-filled Puppy Introduction Program! This special session is designed to help your little furball get used to cuddles, mouth touching, and toothbrushing in a positive and playful environment.
Here's what we have in store:
- 30 minutes of playful interaction: We’ll get to know your puppy, introducing them to our services with gentle care.
- Plaque Scaling: We’ll gently scale any plaque to ensure those little teeth stay sparkling clean.
- 15-minute teeth brushing: We’ll show you how to brush your puppy’s teeth, making sure they feel comfortable and confident.
Our goal is to make your puppy feel right at home with us and ensure they enjoy their grooming routine. We can’t wait to meet your bundle of joy and start this exciting journey together!
Don't let the name Dashing Dogs Dental fool you. We also offer cat teeth cleaning! We take extra care with our feline friends and have extensive experience working with cats to make sure the process is comfortable and stress free as possible.
We only accept cats in their crate, soft shelled carrier or in a harness and leash. We can only accept cats that are fully secure. Appointments take about 30 minutes.
We opt to hand scale your pets' teeth keeping the noise level to a minimum.
Our sterilization procedure is the same as you would find at a human Dentest. Instruments are sharp and sterilized and ready to use fresh for each animal.
Just like humans as part of regular pet care it’s best to have your pets' teeth cleaned every 6 months.
Pets with oral health issues are always referred to your veterinarian for treatment. Pets who are known biters and aggressive personalities are not eligible.
Although we manually scale teeth’s surface and under the gum line there are circumstances where we might not be able to remove your pet’s tartar. We do not diagnose diseases, pull teeth or X-Rays, these services are left to veterinarians.
We ask you to cancel your appointment 24 hours prior to your appointment to avoid our $50 cancellation fee. If you were to not show up our 'no show fee' will apply in the amount of $100.
